A "role-playing game" or RPG is a game in which players take on the roles of imaginary characters who engage in cooperative adventures, typically in a futuristic, historical or fantasy setting, overseen by a referee or "game-master".
An RPG is an opportunity to cooperatively tell a story in real time! It is also an opportunity to be somebody else for a while; to explore the nuances of good and bad decision-making, of mortality and courage, leadership and survival and innovation. In short, RPG's provide one of the most unique gaming experiences available today!
