Paul Swan Maths Resources are great for teaching specific maths concepts using basic classroom manipulatives. They haven't been included on this page, as there are so many - so we thought they deserved their own page!

Homeschool Resources to Occupy the Younger Siblings
In this collection, you will find some of our favourite, handpicked items which can be used to help include or occupy younger siblings in a homeschool setting.
A technique for younger siblings which has been tried and tested by our resident homeschool Mum is the following: Have certain activities put aside for the younger siblings, which can only be used while you are homeschooling the older kids. This helps the younger siblings look forward to the lesson time rather than getting upset by it.
If you teach subjects separately, you can make the activities for the younger kids relevant to what the older kids are learning so they feel that they are included in the homeschooling activity. It also gets them interested in each subject, in an age appropriate way.
Teaching Literacy?
Let the younger kids do a relevant jigsaw puzzle, look through a book, or practice their fine motor skills with a handwriting practice book.
Teaching Maths?
Let the kids play with blocks (just like the older kids may use manipulatives for their lessons), use pattern blocks to create pictures, or solve a puzzle (because Maths is really just a full subject dedicated to solving puzzles!).
Teaching Science?
Let the younger kids explore the backyard with a bug viewer, flip through a book about animals, play with some sand and water fine motor tools, do some safe early childhood experiments, or dig for fossils using a paleontology kit.
Teaching Technologies?
Let the younger kids learn the basics of mechanics by playing with an early childhood gear building set, create a unique marble run, or create shapes and animals using a Clixo or CONNETIX set.
Teaching History?
Let the younger kids play with a Playmobil set, flip through a book, or colour in a relevant colouring page.

A special mention
We have a wonderful range of model kits and marble runs which would be a fantastic inclusion to your homeschooling technologies program, however to include them all in this collection would cause it to become too large for people to browse productively. So instead, we have created separate pages for each range. Each of these ranges are wonderful in their own way, and would compliment a homeschooling technologies program perfectly.

Imaginative play is hugely important in a child's development!
In our achievement-oriented world, it is too easy to focus on educational goals for a child, and overlook - or de-emphasise - this vital element of learning and growing.
Imaginative play time allows a child to explore their relationship with the world around them, develop thinking skills, navigate scary or challenging scenarios, and develop social and emotional intelligence. It gives them a chance to synthesise everything they have learned into a whole picture.
And it gives the magic and wonder of this world a chance to sneak in and fill the gaps.
